Penn State Women’s Basketball Names Captains for 2016-17 Season


Leadership is the one constant of successful programs and the 2016-17 edition of the Penn State women’s basketball team has elected a trio of capable student-athletes as captain for the 2016-17 season. Seniors Kaliyah Mitchell (Stone Mountain, Ga.) & Peyton Whitted (Suwanee, Ga.), and sophomore Sarah McMurtry (Pittsburgh, Pa.) have been selected as captains for the upcoming season.

2016-17 Men’s Basketball Schedule Announced


The Minnesota men’s basketball team will take the court 21 times this upcoming season, as the Gophers 2016-17 schedule was unveiled Thursday in conjunction with the Big Ten Conference schedule announcement.

Unless otherwise listed, game times and television broadcast information will be announced at a later date.

The season will unofficially begin on Thursday, November 3, as the Gophers welcome Bemidji State for an exhibition. Eight days later, Minnesota opens its 2016-17 campaign hosting Louisiana Lafayette (Fri., Nov. 11).

GOPHERS NAME 2016-17 CAPTAINS


The back-to-back defending national champion Golden Gophers have named the team’s 2016-17 captains. Senior Lee Stecklein will continue her duties from last season as captain, while fellow seniors Kate Schipper and Dani Cameranesi will serve as assistant captains.

“I am very excited to announce that Lee Stecklein, Kate Schipper and Dani Cameranesi will be our captains for the 2016-2017 season,” head coach Brad Frost said. “They are all great players, but more importantly, they are the type of people that represent our program in a first class manner. The three of them are team-first, devoted, and very disciplined. We are looking forward to another great year of Gopher women's hockey.”

Michigan and Notre Dame to Renew Rivalry with Home-and-Home Series in 2018-19


The winningest programs in college football history, the University of Michigan and the University of Notre Dame, announced  the renewal of their storied rivalry with a home-and-home series during the 2018-19 seasons.
 
The Irish will host the Wolverines at Notre Dame Stadium in the season opener on Sept. 1, 2018, with a return trip to Michigan Stadium scheduled for Oct. 26, 2019.
